Following the details that emerged in the past weeks about the release window, design, battery and production, a new piece of the puzzle for the camera department of OnePlus 16
According to the leaker Digital Chat Station, the upcoming flagship would mount a main sensor of 200 MP accompanied by a periscopic telephoto lens and a autofocus selfie camera, in what is shaping up to be one of the most refined camera configurations ever seen on a OnePlus.
The main sensor would be a 200 MP module with a 1/1.4″ format, while the periscopic telephoto would offer a 3x zoom relying on a Sony sensor of 1/1.95″ with 50MP. Completing the rear setup would be an ultra-wide camera, also 50 MP.
There is also particular attention to selfies and video calls: the front would host a 50 MP autofocus selfie camera, a feature already seen on OnePlus 15 but with a 32 MP sensor.
It is worth noting that this camera configuration diverges from what had emerged from previous rumors, which showed some uncertainty about a possible 200 MP periscopic telephoto.
According to the newer source, however, it is the main sensor that would have 200 MP resolution, while the periscopic would stop at 50 MP with a 3x zoom.
Among the previous leaks, there is mention of a BOE display with a refresh rate up to 165 Hz (which would rise to 185 Hz during gaming), the processor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and a 9,000 mAh battery with wired 100W and wireless 50W charging.
The device would be IP68/IP69 certified for water and dust resistance and would feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
