With the debut of the Redmi Note 17 series, a big question emerged: what happened to the flagship version, the usual Pro+ model? According to rumors so far, the latest generation will welcome Redmi Note 17 Pro Max: the “flagship” of mid-range should align with the main series (which includes Xiaomi 17 Pro Max), which in turn mimics Cupertino.
Now, a certification confirms the existence of the Pro Max variant and also reveals the possible release window for the device. The cherry on top? It is the Global variant, therefore the one dedicated to international markets.
The latest news comes from the Thai NBTC authority: don’t be fooled by the Asian nature of the certification, because the document concerns models marketed worldwide.
Recently in the database several devices from Xiaomi’s mid-range lineup have been added. We have Redmi Note 17 5G (26081RA18G) and the 4G version of the latter, but the most interesting model is undoubtedly the one bearing the code 2609FRA74G.
The commercial name dispels any doubts: This is Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, an unreleased variant that has not yet been announced even in China. In recent weeks the Chinese market welcomed the launch of Redmi Note 17 and 17 Pro, while the higher-end variant is still missing from the lineup.
Anyone who knows Xiaomi knows that certain details are not left to chance: the initial numbers present in the device model codes, in general, indicate the release period. “2608” means that the Redmi Note 17 5G should be launched in the Global version in August, in line with rumors from the past few days.
The Global Pro Max variant is expected for September, given the numbers “2609“, bolstering the hypothesis of a fragmented launch for the new generation.
There are no technical details; other certifications of the Global model reveal the presence of a 9,210 mAh battery with 100W charging support, RAM of 8/12 GB and 256/512 GB of storage space.
The Chinese variant is expected to be the first Redmi with a massive 10,000 mAh battery and is expected to feature a triple camera with a 200 MP main sensor and a telephoto lens for distant shots.
