Redmi K100 certified in China: will it be our standard POCO F9?

Redmi K100, the standard model of the lineup that will accompany K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, would have passed the certification of the Chinese MIIT on September 18. This step, while not revealing official specifications, confirms that the device is now close to its debut.

Redmi K100: what emerges from the certification and rumors

The registered model number, M786BC, is associated precisely with the standard variant of the series. As mentioned a little above, the certification itself does not report detailed technical specifications, but confirms the existence of the device and its progress toward launch.

According to leaks circulated earlier, Redmi K100 would mount a battery with a particularly high capacity and a flat display with a high refresh rate. Among other features there would be an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and IP68 certification against dust and water.

Redmi K100 would thus complete a lineup already underway: Redmi K100 Pro and Pro Max: consequently, it cannot be ruled out that the plain Redmi K100 could make its appearance here as the POCO F9 base.

Is our POCO F9 standard coming?

There is also another element that makes the phone particularly interesting for us in the West. The K100 Pro and Pro Max models were announced in Europe and in Italy as POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra: consequently, it cannot be ruled out that the plain Redmi K100 could make its appearance here as the POCO F9 base.

However the last generation lacks a POCO F8, being limited to the Pro and Ultra brothers, while the previous one produced the excellent POCO F7. So for now we are still in the realm of hypotheses and we do not know precisely what Xiaomi’s strategy will be for the device family.
