You can already get a taste of the iPhone Duo — download the official wallpapers

Although the release of the new iPhone Duo is still some time away, users can start customizing their existing devices to imitate Apple’s first foldable.

As of yesterday, the four official high-resolution wallpapers for the device are available for download, extracted directly from the latest developer-focused software releases and ready to be applied on any other device.

During the presentation on September 9, the user interface of Apple’s new foldable showed some unreleased background images, designed to best fit the new display format.

Initially, these files were not included in the public release of iOS 27. The situation has since been unlocked in recent hours following the release of Xcode 27.1 beta.

Analyzing the development software, and more specifically the files related to the device simulator, it was possible to identify and extract the four original high-resolution wallpapers. This technical step now allows anyone to download the images and use them freely, offering a taste of the aesthetic the company designed to accompany the launch of its new hardware.

All four images have been saved keeping the maximum quality, ensuring adequate sharpness even if applied to ultra-high-density displays.

The wallpapers for Light Mode

The emulator’s file package is evenly split between options designed for the OS’s light and dark themes. For Light Mode, Apple opted for a natural landscape depicting a series of sandy dunes positioned in the foreground, standing out against a mountain range visible in the background.

The images reflect the same composition seen during the announcement videos. The two versions available for this mode differ in a precise exposure calibration: one of the two variations actually features a slightly higher brightness level, offering users the ability to choose the visual intensity most suited to their preferences and to the legibility of icons on screen.
