It’s been a little over a month since the official debut of Galaxy A27, the latest mid-range of this generation. Yet in Samsung’s near future there is already room for the next series: as tradition, Galaxy A18 should make its appearance by the end of the year, positioning itself as the first smartphone of the new family.
Awaiting official details, the smartphone has reportedly been spotted on Geekbench: the device carries the model number SM-A185G but for now there is no certainty about the commercial name. Anyway, according to leaks it should be the Samsung Galaxy A18 in the 4G version, also aided by a known chipset.
The phone scored 745 and 2,073 points, respectively in single-core and multi-core, with 4 GB of RAM on board and Android 17 — thus One UI 9, the latest incarnation of Samsung’s software.
The SoC is a MediaTek MT6789 solution consisting of 2 cores at 2.20 GHz and 6 cores up to 2 GHz. It is the Helio G99 chip, the same used for the Galaxy A17 4G. Therefore we can expect only minor improvements, but for now there are no other clues.
The launch would be scheduled by the end of 2026, perhaps as early as September/October. Remember that recently numerous details about Galaxy A18 5G, with images and specs, would reveal the presence of a Snapdragon SoC and an affordable model with a display featuring a waterdrop notch.
