Among tech manufacturers, Lenovo is the brand that has invested more than anyone in the rollable format. The brand’s first laptop with expandable screen from the brand was launched last July in Italy, and now, after more than a year, they are looking at the successor.
However Project Swan is still a prototype but the leaked images in these hours show a paradigm shift for the brand’s rollable laptop: the screen expands horizontally instead of vertically!
Despite the memory crisis and the rising cost of components, Lenovo does not seem inclined to slow down, focusing on a terminal with an experimental style. The device will likely belong to the ThinkBook family like the predecessor and the images show the new design and how the extendable screen works.
Regarding the release, according to Windows Latest — the source of the leaked images — the official unveiling should not be far away.
Compared with the current ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, the new rollable laptop features a display that extends to the side. The vertical format is set aside in favor of a horizontal expansion, which allows for a larger workspace.
On the left side of the PC there are two USB-C ports but the images do not show the right side, so it’s not possible to know if there are others.
For now, specifications and price remain a mystery, as does the date of the unveiling. However we can be certain that this will be an expensive PC: the already mentioned ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 arrived in Italy at €4,499, so we expect a similarly hefty figure.
