After rolling out its Gaming Phone for this generation (Ace 6 Ultra), a device that combines elegance and performance, the Pete Lau-founded company isn’t taking a summer vacation. The new OnePlus Turbo 6X and 6X Pro are official in China and debut with mid-range specifications, a particularly affordable price, and a new orange colorway!
The two phones for China are based on the recent Nord CE 6 and CE 6 Lite, but there are still some changes in terms of aesthetics (for the elder brother) and hardware. So we’re not talking about true rebrands, even though the differences are very subtle.
OnePlus Turbo 6X is the smaller of the two: the design belongs to earlier generations of mid-range, with a capsule-shaped vertical camera module. The phone is powered by the Dimensity 7360 Super while the display is a 6.72″ diagonal LCD with a 144 Hz refresh rate.
The chassis is IP64-rated while the camera system is entrusted to a 50 MP sensor, in combination with a monochrome lens. Under the hood we find a 7,000 mAh battery with 45W charging. The bigger brother OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro offers some improvements: the chipset is the Dimensity 7400 Super, newer on paper but CPU, GPU and manufacturing process remain unchanged.
The real novelties concern other aspects, such as the 6.78-inch OLED screen with brightness up to 3,600 nits, total waterproofing (IP69K), the camera with OIS and the addition of an ultra-wide-angle sensor. The battery is also upgraded, with its 8,000 mAh and support for 80W fast charging.
This is OnePlus’s first smartphone equipped with an orange tone, clearly inspired by Apple’s latest flagship models.
In both cases we’re talking about affordable smartphones: OnePlus Turbo 6X starts at around €191 at the exchange rate (1.499 yuan, 8/128 GB) while the Pro version debuts at a starting price of around €217 at the current exchange rate (1.699 yuan, same configuration).
