Nothing is preparing to expand its product range with the launch of its first smartwatch under the main brand.
Scheduled for the month of September, the new device promises to bring the company’s iconic design to users’ wrists, aiming at a higher-end market segment than the budget models already proposed with CMF and maintaining a competitive price, under 300 euros.
According to the recent information shared by the well-known insider Yogesh Brar, the company is actively working to unveil this new wearable by the end of summer.
The smartwatch will stand out for its unique and unmistakable aesthetics that characterize all of the company’s devices, combining refined materials and distinctive lines.
Initially, the product’s distribution will be limited to some selected markets, a strategy often adopted to gauge public response before a global release.
The anticipation around this news is high, as it represents a crucial step in building a catalog of increasingly interconnected devices.
Up to now, the company had preferred to delegate the watch segment to its CMF sub-brand.
Last year the CMF Watch 3 Pro was launched, a device sold at 99 euros that offers respectable technical specifications, including a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, an integrated GPS module, the ability to make calls via Bluetooth, tracking of vital signs, and battery life of several days.
However, that model stops a step below the full experience of a true high-end smartwatch. The new project, positioning itself just under the 300-euro threshold, will directly compete in a decidedly more aggressive segment, challenging direct competitors such as the OnePlus Watch 4.
An open aspect—and source of much discussion—concerns the software that will power the device.
It is not yet clear whether the company will opt for adopting Google’s Wear OS, which would ensure deep integration with third-party applications and advanced features, or whether it prefers to develop a custom operating system (based on RTOS), following the path already laid out by the CMF model.
This choice will determine the actual operating capabilities of the watch and its impact on battery life.
