After taking a first look at the book-style model, it’s time for Samsung’s next clamshell foldable. The new Galaxy Z Flip 8 has been captured by the usual Onleaks: the insider has published a series of render images showing its design. The perfect opportunity to take stock with all the details on the specifications (leaks) and the possible release window.
As always, let’s remember that renderings from Onleaks are concepts and not press images (unless specified). The insider’s creations are based on reliable sources and often do not differ much from the final counterpart. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 there is little to add: the design shown faithfully mirrors that of the current Z Flip 7.
Aesthetically, the manufacturer would opt for continuity: after the external fold-out display of the Z Flip 6, the Asian company has finally introduced a full-screen panel. The final result is a true gem and the next flagship clamshell could do the same without upheaval.
Dimensions and weight probably won’t change much either: the Z Flip 8 is expected to feature a chassis of 166.8 x 75.4 x 6.6 mm while the predecessor measures 166.7 x 75.2 x 6.5 mm. So we are talking about a millimeter difference, and the same would apply when closed (13.2 mm vs 13.7 mm).
The new clamshell foldable would once again offer a main display of 6.9″ diagonally, accompanied by an external 4.1″ panel.
No official details yet, but according to the latest leaks the summer Unpacked event will take place on 22 July in London. Obviously, along with Z Flip 8 there will also be Galaxy Z Fold 8, a book-form foldable with an 8″ internal display.
