After the announcement of the base model and Fusion, the future of the Edge lineup also includes the Motorola Edge 70 Pro. This is an eagerly awaited launch since the previous generation also saw the debut of a higher-end variant. And just like Edge 60 Pro, the new model will also rely on a MediaTek chipset: the first results on Geekbench reveal it, with a hint of the specifications.
Both Edge 70 and Edge 70 Fusion are equipped with Snapdragon solutions but for the elder brother the core of the experience will be the Dimensity 8500, as teased by Geekbench. This is a chipset we know well, built at 4 nm by TSMC and featuring an All Big Core architecture (with a maximum frequency of 3.4 GHz).
In the benchmarks it scored 1,727 points in single-core and 6,563 in multi-core; the phone appears with 12 GB of RAM while the software is based on Android 16. Meanwhile the device has also appeared on Flipkart, the Indian e-commerce platform; however, a launch in our region cannot be ruled out but for the moment all is quiet.
The new Motorola Edge 70 Pro has also appeared in some leaked images, which have fully revealed the design. The aesthetics are similar to the predecessor, with a square camera module (housing three sensors and the LED flash) and a display with curved edges.
One of the device’s peculiarities will be the larger battery compared to the base model: around 6,000 mAh (discovered through certification) versus 4,800 mAh of Edge 70 standard.
