The Google Pixel 11 will be the first to use Samsung’s latest OLEDs

There are now only a few months left until Google’s new generation of high-end smartphones hits the market, and more and more relevant details are beginning to emerge.

A recent report has shed light on the key components that will make up the upcoming Pixel 11, with a particular focus on the display specifications.

Pixel 11 is closer than ever, and will feature phenomenal displays

According to information disseminated by the well-known Korean outlet ETnews, Google’s upcoming devices will adopt the new M16 OLED panels developed by Samsung.

This is a top-tier hardware supply that Google’s smartphones will share with Apple’s future iPhone 18 Pro.

The adoption of M16 technology represents a significant advance over current standards. The newly conceived displays should guarantee significantly superior performance in several aspects, offering a notable increase in maximum brightness, an even more precise color rendition, and, equally crucial for battery life, an overall optimization of power consumption.

Currently, devices such as the entire iPhone 17 line, the Samsung Galaxy S26 and the Pixel 10 Pro use the previous generation of displays, known by the code M14. The integration of the new panels will therefore mark a major step forward.

Timing and strategic advantage

The most distinctive aspect of this leak concerns the launch windows of the various manufacturers. If current information is officially confirmed, the Pixel 11 series could secure the absolute lead, becoming the first smartphone family to bring Samsung’s new technology to market.

This outcome would be made possible by Google’s current business strategy, which recently decided to unveil its flagship smartphones in August. Playing ahead of Apple, traditionally tied to announcements in September, Google would gain a timing advantage.

The situation takes an unexpected turn when looking at Samsung’s mobile division: the South Korean smartphone unit will find itself chasing the competition. The installation of the M16 displays on the upcoming Galaxy S27 is indeed planned only for the first months of 2027, a considerable time after the debut on devices from the California-based companies.
