vivo X300 FE Officially Unveiled: the compact that challenges iPhone Air with style and power

The Chinese manufacturer left everyone stunned at MWC, confirming the European launch of X300 Ultra (over the course of the year). But the Camera Phone isn’t the only card to play: with a surprise move, here comes vivo X300 FE with its divisive and elegant design. The new model in the series was launched in Russia, confirming all the rumors that have circulated over the months.

The new model of the X300 family is nothing more than the Western version of vivo S50 Pro Mini, launched in China last December. Compared to the previous X200 FE, Zeiss optics are missing, so the phone presents itself as a perfect rebrand of its Chinese counterpart.

In terms of design, the X300 FE owes a lot to the iPhone Air: the style echoes the Cupertino rival’s look, but without an ultra-thin profile. It is nonetheless about 7.99 mm thick and weighs 191 grams, making it a compact model. Also aided by the AMOLED display of 6.31 inches diagonal, with an integrated ultrasonic reader and a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits – for maximum visibility even under sunlight.

The chassis is IP69 rated and SGS 5-star certified (against shocks and drops). Maximum durability but also longevity: vivo has promised as many as 5 years of Android updates and up to 7 years of security patches.

The camera department is led by a Sony 50 MP sensor, paired with an 8 MP ultrawide and a periscope telephoto 50 MP. For selfies, inside the central punch-hole sits a 50 MP wide-angle sensor. The performance is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

Battery also doesn’t disappoint: it’s a sizeable 6,500 mAh unit with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.
