In the end, the rumors that have been circulating for months have proven true: Apple has announced the new MacBook Neo, a small revolution for its premium laptop lineup. For the first time, the Cupertino-based company has launched a budget-friendly solution, and to do so it has chosen to base the hardware on the chipset that powers last-generation iPhones.
The design of the MacBook Neo features a durable aluminum shell with soft, rounded corners, giving the device an elegant aesthetic and a comfortable grip. Weighing just 1.22 kg, it is extremely easy to carry in any bag or backpack, making it the ideal companion for students and professionals on the move.
For the first time, Apple introduces a particularly vibrant color range, offering four splendid colors: blush, indigo, silver and citrus. This attention to aesthetic detail also extends to the Magic Keyboard, whose keys feature coordinated tones, and to the new customizable wallpapers that create a coherent visual harmony.
The heart of the laptop is the A18 Pro chip, capable of handling daily tasks with extreme fluidity, from web browsing to photo editing. According to what Apple reports, MacBook Neo is up to 50% faster in routine tasks than the most popular PCs equipped with the latest Intel Core Ultra 5 processors.
Additionally, thanks to the 16-core Neural Engine, the device excels in on-device AI workloads, being up to three times faster at applying advanced effects to images. The system is fanless, ensuring a completely silent operation even when running demanding applications.
The visual experience is delivered by a 13″ Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408 x 1506 pixels and a brightness of 500 nits, one billion colors and an anti-reflective coating.
The multimedia setup is completed by a FaceTime HD a 1080p camera, dual microphones with beamforming technology to reduce background noise and side speakers that support Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, ensuring immersive sound for movies and music. Regarding battery life, up to 16 hours of battery life on a single charge.
