Huawei Mate XT 2 si ispirerà a Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold?

Recent rumors about Huawei’s upcoming trifold device, the alleged Mate XT 2, suggest a clear departure from the design adopted by the previous generation.

A new patent that has surfaced online indeed outlines a completely revised closing mechanism, which abandons the Z-fold format in favor of an inward-folding solution, conceptually closer to the ideas explored by Samsung with its Galaxy Z TriFold.

Besides aesthetics, the rumors also focus on the technical specifications.

What is Huawei Mate XT 2 like? The first schematics have surfaced; it looks like the Galaxy Z TriFold

The information released in April indicated the month of October as a possible launch window for the company’s new smartphone. Now a patent has emerged to fuel the anticipation, shared on the X platform by the well-known leaker Ice Universe, which details the structural modifications planned for the chassis.

The document shows a trifold that dispenses with the Z-fold closure, which has characterized the previous Mate XT and Mate XTs models. The manufacturer would have opted for a system that folds inward, a choice that envisions introducing an external screen independent from the main, large flexible panel to be paired with it.

The outlined system recalls the solutions designed for the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, while maintaining proprietary operation. Observing the images attached to the patent, a division into three distinct sections emerges. The central panel houses a circular camera module, while the right-hand portion integrates the external display.

The interaction between parts follows a precise mechanical sequence: the right segment (looking at the inner display) closes first toward the inside, followed subsequently by the left panel. This closing mode ensures that the foldable screen remains protected inside when the smartphone is not in use.

Le specifiche attese per Huawei Mate XT 2

On the specification front, rumors outline a high-end profile. Data processing should be entrusted to the chipset Kirin 9050 Pro, supported by a battery module capable of reaching and exceeding the 6,000 mAh threshold. Such capacity is essential to provide adequate battery life for the energy demands of a display surface as expansive as this.

Regarding the camera system, speculation indicates the implementation of a rear triple-sensor module, directly adopting the configuration already used on the Huawei Mate X7.

It remains to be seen whether the manufacturer will keep the autumn timeline to officially unveil the product.
