Samsung Galaxy S26 FE, bad news for the battery

The recent certification obtained by the Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicaes in Brazil has in fact confirmed a large part of the technical specifications of the upcoming smartphone Samsung, revealing a fairly conservative approach by the South Korean manufacturer.

The official unveiling of Galaxy S26 FE, scheduled for Thursday, 27 August, will bring to market a device that shares multiple characteristics with its predecessor, particularly regarding the battery which does not show any step forward compared to the previous generation.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE: no changes to battery life

The documentation issued by the Brazilian agency is clear and dispels any doubts about the brand’s choices: the power unit of the device will not undergo changes compared to last year’s model.

Users will face a 4,900 mAh module, the same nominal capacity already seen on the Galaxy S25 FE and on the Galaxy S25+.

Although this is a value adequate to ensure good all-day coverage, the absence of concrete improvements will disappoint those who expected a leap forward for autonomy.

Also on the fast charging front, there are no notable developments. The device will support a maximum speed of 45 W, however the Brazilian retail package will include only a standard 25 W charger, identified by the model EP-TA800, forcing consumers to purchase a separate charger to fully take advantage of the charging speed.

Processor, display and network limitations

Under the hood, the new model will be powered by the Exynos 2500 processor, a chip already used on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The memory configurations indicated in the documents point to the presence of 8 GB of RAM paired with internal storage ranging from 128 GB to 256 GB.

The screen will maintain a generous diagonal of 6.7 inches, relying on the proven Super AMOLED technology with a FullHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

A curious detail that emerged during certification concerns connectivity: although the integrated processor is theoretically capable of supporting Wi-Fi 7 networks, the device will reach shelves limited to Wi-Fi 6E. However, complete support for 5G networks, Bluetooth 5.4, the NFC chip and the convenience of reverse wireless charging will be present.

The camera system and price uncertainties

Also for image and video capture, the company has chosen not to alter a known formula. The rear camera module will feature three distinct sensors, led by a 50 MP main camera. It will be complemented by a 12 MP ultra-wide lens and a 8 MP telephoto.

This configuration, absolutely identical to the past, confirms the intention to keep production costs stable, although the final consumer price could undergo undesirable variations.

The current dynamics and the recent RAM supply crisis could indeed push the company to set a launch price higher than that of the previous model.

The final answer will come during the official event, when the smartphone will be unveiled to the public, presumably alongside the new tablets from the Tab S family.
