With the Galaxy S27 Ultra, Samsung seems to be taking far too many cues from Apple

The latest rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra reveal a radical shift from the past in terms of design. The images leaked online show a camera module design that clearly echoes the choices adopted by Apple, marking a clear departure from the lines of the previous models.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra will resemble the iPhone 17 Pro?

Images shared on X by the well-known leaker Sonny Dickson show what the new device is likely to look like.

The detail that immediately jumps out is the back of the device, which abandons the previous configurations in favor of a large horizontal camera island.

This protruding ridge spans most of the width of the chassis, in a configuration that clearly echoes the shapes of the iPhone 17 Pro. Although other Asian manufacturers have already explored this type of design in the past, the decision to adopt such a configuration now does not appear at all coincidental.

Inside this rear protrusion you can clearly notice a pill-shaped cutout, a space presumably intended to house a secondary camera sensor and the inevitable flash.

Integrated magnets for charging

Beyond the camera-related innovations, the renders reveal another significant detail on the rear of the device. A circular cutout centered is visible, an element indicating the probable integration of a magnet system.

This technical feature suggests full support for the Qi2 wireless charging standard, a technology that brings magnetic attachment, popularized by Apple’s products, to the new flagship.

In this way, it will open up a wide ecosystem of compatible chargers and accessories for all future buyers.

New formats coming

The innovations do not concern solely the exterior appearance and the rear shell. According to information disclosed by Dickson, the new flagship model could debut on the market in two different form factors.

This rumor ties to some earlier rumors, which speculated the launch of a special variant, perhaps named “Galaxy S27 Pro“.

It would be a smartphone with more compact dimensions than the traditional Ultra version, yet able to maintain most of the premium features.

The introduction of a high-end compact device would satisfy a specific consumer demand, addressing the needs of users who seek high performance in a more ergonomic and easier-to-handle body, comfortable to manage with one hand.
