Will these 10 important new features make you buy the Galaxy S26 Ultra?

According to a tweet from the well-known insider @TheGalox_, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to arrive on the market with ten important updates.

The rumors suggest a mix of aesthetic refinements and substantial hardware upgrades that could convince even skeptics to consider upgrading.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: 10 important new features to convince you

The first big step forward concerns the display, which is expected to adopt the brand-new technology OLED M14. According to leaks, this panel will guarantee energy efficiency 20-30% higher than the M13 generation seen on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Although this technology is capable of extremely high brightness peaks, it seems Samsung has chosen to focus primarily on reducing power consumption, a critical factor for overall battery life.

In addition to efficiency, the panel will introduce a major functional innovation for data security: a screen with an integrated privacy filter.

This technology will limit viewing angles on demand, preventing prying eyes from spying on sensitive content while using the smartphone in crowded places, thereby protecting personal information from unwanted eyes without the need to apply third-party privacy films.

The camera system will have major innovations

We expect significantly wider focal apertures: the main camera would move to f/1.4 (compared to the predecessor’s f/1.7), while the 5x telephoto would reach an aperture of f/2.9.

These optical changes will allow the sensors to capture a greater amount of light, translating into sharper night shots with less digital noise.

Selfies will also benefit from an upgrade, thanks to a wider front lens of 22mm, ideal for including more people in the frame.

On the video front, the user experience will take a quality leap thanks to the new features of the Camera Assistant module integrated in One UI 8.5.

Users will finally be able to adjust the autofocus transition speed, choosing between two distinct modes: a fast transition (“Snap Focus”) for sports and frenetic actions, and a slow transition (“Rack Focus”) to achieve that soft cinematic effect where the focus gently shifts from one subject to another.

To complete the picture, new lens coatings promise to reduce or eliminate annoying light reflections (lens flare), while software processing will allow softening the excessive artificial sharpness often criticized in previous models.

Internal updates expected as well

Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. While it has not yet been confirmed whether it will be produced by TSMC with a 3nm process or by Samsung Foundry using the 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) technology, the computing power is assured.

Backing the chipset will be a new LPDDR5X RAM capable of reaching speeds of 10.7 Gbps. This speed is not a mere end in itself: it will allow AI to process HDR multi-frame 25% faster, effectively eliminating shutter lag.

Finally, the battery life and design will receive long-awaited updates. After six generations stuck at 5000mAh, the battery could finally grow, settling in a range between 5100 and 5400mAh.

Interestingly, the increase in capacity will not compromise ergonomics: the device is expected to be thinner, reaching 7.9mm thick compared to 8.2mm on the previous model.

The charging will see the introduction of Super-Fast Charging 3.0 at 60W, surpassing the 45W cap and allowing you to take the battery from 0 to 50% in under 15 minutes.

With a possible unveiling scheduled for the February 25 in San Francisco, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is poised to be a real step forward for Samsung’s flagship line.
