Galaxy S27, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra: how the design of the new flagships will change

There are still several months to go until the debut of Samsung’s new generation, but the first renders made by the well-known insider OnLeaks are already starting to outline what the look of Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will be like. Between a design that would change its look on the Ultra, larger batteries across the lineup, and prices likely to rise, here are all the details that have emerged so far about the three models expected in the early months of next year.

Galaxy S27: in the early renders it looks almost identical

According to the renders, Galaxy S27 would measure 149.75 x 71.88 x 7.25 mm, dimensions virtually identical to those of Galaxy S26 (149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2 mm), with a display confirmed at 6.3 in and the same vertical module already seen on the current model.

On the camera front, the most notable change would concern the main sensor, entrusted to Sony instead of opting for the usual Samsung ISOCELL: this would be the first change to the main camera of the base model in over five years.

For the chip, Samsung could aim for the future Exynos 2700, with 12 GB of RAM and storage starting from 256 GB, with a silicon-carbon battery of 4,900 mAh.

Galaxy S27 Pro: 6.6 in display and no S Pen

Galaxy S27 Pro, a new addition to the family, would measure 154.06 x 73.77 x 7.95 mm, about 9 mm shorter and 5 mm narrower than Galaxy S27 Ultra, with a 6.6 in display that would make it more manageable with one hand.

The design would introduce a wide rectangular island, coming to the flagship Ultra as well; however, unlike the latter there would be no S Pen support.

On the technical front, the Galaxy S27 Pro would mount the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme (or Pro) in most markets, with Exynos 2700 as a possible alternative in some regions, 12 GB of RAM (with a possible option of 16 GB) and storage of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB.

The battery would rise to 5,200 mAh, still with silicon-carbon technology, while the camera system would include a main sensor of 200 MP, a 50 MP ultra-wide and a 12 MP telephoto with 3x zoom, different from the Ultra’s.

Galaxy S27 Ultra: here is the new camera design

The upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra should mark a huge change compared to Galaxy S26 Ultra, with the introduction of a rectangular island to house the camera system, an approach that would recall the solution adopted by Apple on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.

According to the leaks, the device would measure around 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97 mm, with a 6.9 in display and support for the S Pen, included in the box.

Hardware-wise, the Galaxy S27 Ultra would mount the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme as the Pro, with Exynos 2700 as a possible alternative in some markets.

Probably there won’t be a jump to LPDDR6 RAM or UFS 5.0 storage, given rising prices due to the memory crisis.

The battery would rise to around 5,700 mAh, a substantial increase over the Galaxy S26 Ultra (5,000 mAh). Regarding the cameras, Samsung is expected to introduce the new main sensor ISOCELL HP6 from 1/1.3 in, paired with a Sony IMX855 50 MP ultra-wide and a new 5x 50 MP telephoto (or with 4x zoom, according to the latest rumors).

No Quad Camera and no dual tele, then, but a redesigned camera module on both the design and hardware sides.

Prices and release (rumor)

For all three models, leaks indicate a possible price increase compared to the current generation, tied to the aforementioned memory crisis. Galaxy S27 would start at $999 (vs. $899 for the current S26), Galaxy S27 Pro from $1,299, while for Galaxy S27 Ultra they are looking at $1,399 or $1,499.

The launch of the entire lineup is expected for February 2027, perhaps during the week of 22 to 28 (in line with the release window of the current generation).
