Redmi Note 17 5G, Global launch in August: the official date

The new Redmi-series from Xiaomi’s offshoot will arrive in Global version well ahead of the usual timelines. The current lineup was announced in India and Italy in January, but this time it seems there won’t be such a long wait.

The debut in India is set for August and is now official: Redmi Note 17 5G is about to make an international appearance as well, but it remains to be seen when it will arrive in Europe.

The launch event for Redmi’s new smartphone is set for August 6 and, as noted several times, at the moment it is the debut in India. It remains the first sighting outside China, useful to see if there will be changes compared to the Chinese counterpart (launched in mid-July).

Note 17 Pro will arrive later?

Interesting to note the absence of the elder brother: in the teasers and on the official event page (on Xiaomi’s Indian site) only the standard model is shown, a detail that could anticipate a second event dedicated to the higher-end versions.

Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G Global could be announced at a later date, perhaps in September, together with the much-talked-about Note 17 Pro Max. The latter is still unreleased: usually the debut of new notes includes three models, but this year Xiaomi hasn’t yet unveiled the flagship of the lineup. The usual Pro+ name should give way to Pro Max, borrowed from the Xiaomi 17 family (in turn taken from Cupertino’s classic lineup).

New POCO release in August

Finally we recall the appointment with POCO M8 Power: the brand’s new mid-range will be announced in India on August 4 and should be a rebrand of Redmi Note 17 (with cosmetic differences and, most likely, also on the camera side).
