Alongside the announced Xiaomi 18 Fold, the brand’s flagship tablet, which paves the way for the new generation, has arrived. Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max officially debuted in China: it is the first in the series with the Pro Max designation, more than justified given the presence of a 13.3″ panel (designed for use as a real workstation), a 12,000 mAh battery and the XRING O3 proprietary SoC.
Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max measures 296.2 x 203.08 x 5.67 mm and weighs 645 grams in the standard version, 653 grams in the variant with a display featuring a matte finish. The fingerprint reader is integrated laterally into the power button, while for colors Xiaomi has chosen to accompany the classic black and silver with the new, elegant shade red wine.
The 13.3″ LCD panel has a 3.4K resolution (3,408 x 2,272 pixels) with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a density of 308 PPI, a refresh rate up to 144 Hz and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.
Xiaomi claims professional-grade color accuracy with a color deviation of ΔE less than 0.47, as well as 12-bit color depth, DCI-P3 color space and support for HDR10, HDR Vivid and Dolby Vision.
Sotto la scocca debutta XRING O3, the new processor developed in-house by Xiaomi with a 3 nm manufacturing process. The SoC consists of a 10-core CPU entirely “Big Core” with a maximum frequency of 4.35 GHz, together with a 16-core GPU G2-Ultra NX.
In tests the chipset achieved an AnTuTu (v12) score of about 5,615,572, with a 54% increase in CPU multi-core performance and 85% in GPU performance compared to the previous XRING O1.
Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is available in several memory configurations: 8 GB LPDDR5X, 12 GB LPDDR5T, 16 GB LPDDR5T and, at the top end, 16 GB of LPDDR6 RAM, with storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB (all in UFS 4.1 format).
The tablet packs a 12,000 mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging, enabling 60% charge in 20 minutes. It also supports 27W reverse charging, as well as a dedicated 45W charging via a POGO pin designed for use on Xiaomi SU7 vehicles. Claimed endurance reaches up to 12 hours of office tasks or over 11 hours of video playback.
On the photography front, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max features a 50 MP rear sensor capable of 4K video at 60 fps, and a 32 MP front camera designed for video calls.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port at 10 Gbps with integrated DisplayPort, which allows connecting an external monitor up to 3.4K at 120 Hz.
On the software side, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is the brand’s first tablet with HyperOS 4 and the new assistant Super Xiao AI 2.0. The multitasking lets you manage up to six windows in split screen plus one floating window on models with at least 12 GB of RAM, compared to three split-screen windows in the base version.
Thanks to the integrated DisplayPort, the tablet can also function as a second screen for a PC, as a graphics tablet, or as a large-screen display for gaming.

Again, this is a device that will remain exclusive to China, given the XRING SoC. However we await the launch of the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro, which should also find space on our shores (as is traditional).
