Redmi 17 Has Almost No Secrets Left: Leaked Images, Specs and Price Leak

While in China the new Redmi Note 17 series has been announced, something is starting to move for global markets as well, albeit in a way different from what you might imagine. The first smartphone in the lineup expected internationally should be Redmi 17 4G, now at the center of a substantial leak that leaves no room for imagination (and it’s a real shame).

Redmi 17 4G unveiled by a hefty leak: here’s what we can expect from Xiaomi’s next budget phone

The budget phone by Xiaomi presents a look different from Redmi 15, and is much more similar to Redmi 15C: the camera module is large and rectangular, positioned in the top-left corner. Inside there is space for a 50 MP sensor with an unspecified secondary lens, along with the LED flash and an RGB light (probably customizable).

The rear cover will be available in Deep Blue, Black, Oak Green and Lotus Purple, while the chassis has a thickness of 8.8 mm (for a weight of 232 grams).

The Redmi 17 display is the same as the predecessors, a 6.9″ LCD unit with a 120 Hz refresh rate and HD resolution. Do not expect chipset revolutions: according to rumors, the SoC on board will be the Helio G91 Ultra.

And yes, the same as Redmi 13, dating back to 2024: no beating around the bush, this is the price to pay for a low-cost device, i.e., the same old recycled processors nonstop.

Fortunately there are also some updates, such as a 7,500 mAh battery – presumably with silicon-carbon technology (the leaks do not specify). The charging jumps to 45W, compared to 33W of the current generation.

Also according to the leaks, despite the budget nature, Redmi 17 4G should have a chip NFC for contactless payments. On the software side there would be Android 16, via Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 interface.

The leaks also reveal the possible price in Europe: the smartphone is expected to debut at 249,9€ in the 4/128 GB version, then rise to 279,9€ for the 6/256 GB model.
