Redmi Note 17 Pro will arrive soon: release and charging revealed by a certification

The first model of the new generation of Note could debut very soon: the “confirmation” comes from certification, which reveals the possible release window and also the charging power we can expect from some models in the series. In particular we are talking about Redmi Note 17 Pro and Xiaomi’s mid-range now seems close, at least for the Chinese market.

Redmi Note 17 Pro has been certified in China: now we know the charging power

The device has been certified by the 3C authority with the code 2607DRA18C: this is a model number that had already appeared previously and is expected to be associated with the Asian variant of Redmi Note 17 Pro. The initial digits “2607”, as is Xiaomi’s tradition, indicate the possible release period: thus the mid-range should be launched domestically in July, rather than in August as happened last year.

Usually the digits in Xiaomi model codes can also indicate a window of two or three months; however the fact that the device has passed through 3C indicates that the debut is not far away.

The certification reveals the charging power: the phone will be accompanied by a charger of 67W, thus a notable increase compared to the 45W of Redmi Note 15 and 15 Pro (both in China and Italy).

However it remains to be seen whether this power will be sufficient, given the leaks on mega batteries (leaks together with other specifications). Redmi Note 17 is expected to offer as much as 9,000 mAh, with a Flat AMOLED display, a 50 MP camera and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5; the higher-end Pro would even rise to 10,000 mAh, this time with a Dimensity 7500 SoC and a 200 MP main sensor.

A split launch

As of writing there is still a lot of confusion around the release of the new phones but all agree on Xiaomi’s strategy. The Chinese company should “split” the series into two parts, with a launch event planned for July and one for August (for the Global version January 2027 is being considered).

However it is not clear which smartphones would come first: based on the 3C certification, the two Note 17 Pro and Pro Max should be announced first (the latter would be the former Pro+) while the standard version could find room the following month.

It is not clear why Lei Jun’s company would split the various phones; the most plausible hypothesis is that it is an Apple-like imitation of Apple’s strategy, which should present the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in autumn and then the plain version of the series (iPhone 18) in spring.
