The over-ear headphone market welcomes a new protagonist, and this time it’s a Xiaomi-branded novelty. The Redmi Headphones Neo present themselves as an ideal solution for those seeking top-tier acoustic isolation without sacrificing comfort, with the assurance of never running out of music thanks to the long-lasting battery.
Xiaomi’s first over-ear headphones feature a minimalist aesthetic, in the brand’s signature style, with an earcup design and two colorways (Sand White and Obsidian Black). The ear cushions are made of soft synthetic leather, while the telescopic headband offers multi-level adjustment, easily accommodating different head sizes.
The headphones use 40 mm dynamic drivers with a titanium coating, designed to deliver deep bass along with clear and defined highs. For more demanding audiophiles, the Redmi Headphones Neo offer Hi-Res Audio certification when used in wired mode via USB Audio support.
Beyond sound quality, there is active noise cancellation (ANC), capable of reducing ambient noise by up to 42 dB. Thanks to adaptive mode, the headphones automatically adjust the level of isolation based on changes in the surrounding noise.
The triple-microphone system with AI-based algorithms actively works to separate the user’s voice from background noise, making every conversation clear even on busy streets or on public transport. The wind-noise cancellation technology is able to keep the voice strong and intelligible even outdoors in winds reaching up to 5 meters per second.
The listening experience can be customized through the Xiaomi Earbuds app, which offers four preset equalizer modes or the ability to create a personalized sound profile to suit your preferences.
Battery life is undoubtedly one of the strengths, with a runtime that reaches 72 hours on a single full charge, tested with ANC off. If needed, fast charging allows you to obtain up to 5 hours of playback with only 10 minutes of charging.
The new Redmi Headphones Neo debut in Italy at a price of €59.90, via Xiaomi’s official store. Additionally, purchasing the headphones unlocks for new users two months of Spotify Premium without ads as a gift.
