The appointment with the new Nothing smartphone is set for July 7, also in Italy. Waiting for the launch event, the house of Carl Pei has finally lifted the veil on the design of Phone (4b): although it will be a low-budget model it will feature a minimalist aesthetic with an industrial touch, all typical elements of the brand.
The device is shown in blue, with a fresh and pleasant tone. The large rear island houses the cameras and the LED flash, together with the Glyph Bar. This is a novelty introduced with Phone (4a), the new version of the company’s rear LED light interface.
The linear bar is composed of 4 square LEDs, compared to the 6 on the back of Phone (4a). On the front there is space for a display (perhaps OLED) with a central hole for the selfie camera. The company hasn’t revealed the other colors yet, but from leaks it seems the smartphone will debut in black and white as well.
At the moment Nothing is keeping the maximum secrecy about the new device and information is very limited. Apart from the design, a few technical details have recently leaked: it mentions the presence of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 from Qualcomm, together with 8 GB of RAM and Android 16.
There are no shortage of rumors about the price, which looks attractive: the budget phone should start at around 30,000 rupees, i.e. €279 at the current exchange rate. Phone (4a) was launched in Italy at €369 and consequently for Phone (4b) we can only expect a figure lower, perhaps under €300.
