For months, rumors regarding the edition of the twentieth anniversary of Apple’s smartphone have been piling up, foreshadowing a radical redesign.
Rumors describe an iPhone characterized by a body entirely in glass and a screen with curved edges. Now, thanks to information spread by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, a crucial detail for users emerges: the Californian company intends to offer this highly anticipated model in two distinct sizes, catering to those who prefer more compact dimensions.
The two devices, internally known by the codes V73 and V74, will replace the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, maintaining sizes similar to the latter. This move will allow buyers to opt for the diagonal best suited to their needs, avoiding the imposition of a single format as happened with the iPhone X.
Both smartphones are expected to feature nearly bezel-less displays, with a chamfered glass that curves gracefully along the sides, giving a very modern look.
On the performance front, the new devices will be powered by the Apple A21 processor, codename Naxos, built with an advanced 2 nm manufacturing process. This same technical architecture will also be used on the second generation of foldable iPhones, identified by the code V78.
According to market analyses, the Cupertino giant plans to update its foldable lineup with an annual cadence, confirming that multiple projects in this segment are already in advanced development stages.
The year 2027 is therefore set to be a particularly rich year of innovations. In addition to smartphones, the product line will be enriched with a new version of AirPods equipped with integrated cameras. These earbuds, identified by the code B798, will represent the company’s first wearable device strongly focused on artificial intelligence.
The integrated lenses will provide Siri with a precise visual context, allowing users to pose direct questions about surrounding objects and the environment in which they are located.
Although the release of these earbuds was initially planned for 2026, some obstacles related to the development of AI-based software caused the delay.
All these novelties have recently reached very mature test phases and will see the light during the first full calendar year under the leadership of new CEO John Ternus, who will take over from Tim Cook starting from September 1.
Even if the plans seem now laid out, market launch timing remains subject to potential last-minute variations.
