Honor unveils MagicOS 11: Android’s first Liquid Glass opens the beta

With the release of the first stable version of Android 17, the major Chinese manufacturers have also begun to move. Among them we also find Honor, with the latest MagicOS 11: the company has shown some excerpts of the design of the new incarnation of its proprietary interface and has opened the doors to the first closed beta — currently for the Chinese market only.

Regarding MagicOS 11’s aesthetics, the images speak for themselves. The current software version has introduced the so-called Transparent Design, with translucent elements for the lock screen, the desktop, the icons and the weather information.

With the new version, it has raised the bar significantly: the design becomes even more fluid and transparent, with dynamic scenes and improvements in light and color effects.

To avoid confusion, Honor explicitly highlighted its source of inspiration. How? By defining the new MagicOS 11 interface as The first Android Liquid Glass Design: thus the same Chinese company openly acknowledges its muse. Closed beta now live: here are the supported devices

Meanwhile the company has announced the launch of the early access beta: this is the closed program, aimed at a limited number of users and with a handful of supported smartphones.

Candidates can apply from June 16 to 18 (China only) while the update will be released in batches on June 24 and 25.

When will the stable version be released?

Unfortunately the brand has not confirmed the release window for the stable version, so we’re awaiting official details. Still, the current MagicOS 10 was launched last October, so it’s very likely the window remains unchanged — at least for the Chinese audience.

Globally, it’s likely the rollout will begin by the end of the year, then make its way to the rest of the supported devices in the first half of 2027.
