In time for the arrival of summer – the heat started very early this year – Lei Jun’s company has released a new accessory available on the YouPin platform. It is the Xiaomi Mijia Handheld Fan, a portable mini fan that brings all the power of a pedestal fan to the palm of your hand: unfortunately, at the moment it is only available for the (lucky) Chinese Mi Fans!
The new gadget launched by the company looks like a small portable hair dryer, those ultra-compact to carry on trips, but in reality it is the exact opposite. Xiaomi Mijia Handheld Fan is a mini fan and, although it might seem like one of those already seen solutions, in fact it’s much more.
Its compact form hides the power of a full-fledged classic fan, with a few compromises. It can deliver an airflow of 250 m3/h, up to 5 meters away: practically it can be used to refresh an entire room.
The airflow is adjustable across several speeds, up to 100 intensity levels; driving it is a high-performance DC motor, 10,000 rpm, with a 5,000 mAh battery that translates into up to 40 hours of runtime. Charging happens via a simple USB-C port and, according to the company, 10 minutes are enough to obtain at least 4 hours of runtime.
The mini fan weighs just 260 grams and comes with a handy shoulder strap. Finally there is an LED display that shows the battery level and speed. The price? Xiaomi Mijia Handheld Fan is offered on YouPin at only 169 yuan, about €21.4 at the current exchange rate.
At the moment Xiaomi has not yet launched a portable fan in Italy, but there is a wide range of models with and without blades, starting from €59.9.
