The world of technology is watching closely the recent renders that appeared online, which could have revealed the shapes of the long-awaited folding device from Apple, currently known by the name of iPhone Ultra.
Accessory manufacturers provided these valuable clues, a frequent step before the official launch of a new hardware.
Companies that make cases, in this specific instance the brand iFunSmart, usually receive the measurements of future smartphones well in advance, to start production and guarantee the availability of their items from the first day of sales.
However, caution is warranted: it’s not clear whether the circulated models, such as those shared by the Phone Arena portal, derive from official technical schematics provided confidentially or whether they are the result of a reinterpretation based on information that has emerged to date.
In any case, the leaked material offers a very concrete perspective on the product’s aesthetics.
Analyzing the images of the cover, designed to securely latch onto both the front and rear to provide full protection, there emerges a comprehensive view rich in detail. The rear camera module houses two sensors, but what stands out most are the shapes of the displays.
Unlike devices currently on the market, often narrow and elongated, the California-based company seems to have oriented itself toward a visibly wider format. The aesthetic approach more closely resembles a compact tablet capable of folding in on itself, rather than a traditional foldable smartphone.
This setting is also confirmed by the device’s alleged dimensions: the latest rumors suggest a thickness of just 9.23 mm when closed, which translates to a profile below 5 mm once opened.
The cases also reveal some choices related to physical controls and security. The screen renders do not show any kind of hole or notch dedicated to Face ID sensors.
This absence reinforces the hypothesis that the designers have opted for a fingerprint reader integrated directly into the power button, drawing on a solution widely tested in the iPad lineup.
Two additional buttons occupy the upper portion of the frame, presumably dedicated to the volume adjustment. Another detail highlighted by the covers is the presence of strong integrated magnets in the structure, necessary to guarantee full compatibility with the entire MagSafe accessory ecosystem.
As the American company continues to refine its hardware, the major competing brands are already moving their own pieces.
Huawei has just unveiled a device with similar proportions, the Pura X Max, and Samsung is preparing to announce a wider variant of its famous Galaxy Z Fold 8 on July 22.
