Exynos 2600 outperforms some Snapdragon laptops in graphics power, good news for the Galaxy S26

As Samsung gears up for its first event Galaxy Unpacked of the year, the tech world’s attention is inevitably captured by the first leaks regarding the Exynos 2600.

This chipset represents a strategic turning point for the South Korean giant, being the first to be mass-produced with the 2nm GAA process (Gate-All-Around).

Integrated into the SoC that will power some models of the Samsung Galaxy S26 we find the GPU Xclipse 960, the first to leverage a customized version of the RDNA 4 architecture by AMD. And the first indications on performance are nothing short of surprising.

An unexpected comparison: Exynos 2600 (smartphone) vs Snapdragon X Elite (laptop)

Recent Geekbench 6 tests, focused on the OpenCL APIs, have revealed a scenario that just a few years ago would have seemed like science fiction.

Exynos 2600, a chip intended for smartphones, posted a score of 24,964, clearly outperforming the Snapdragon X Elite, which clocks in at 20,492 points in the same test.

To put it in context, the Snapdragon X Elite is not a phone processor, but Qualcomm’s flagship laptop SoC from the last generation, designed to compete directly with Apple’s M-series processors (such as M3 and M4) in Windows on ARM notebooks.

Seeing a mobile processor surpass, by a margin of 21.8% in OpenCL, a chip built to power laptops, is an unequivocal sign of the raw power that the RDNA 4 architecture can unleash.

Be wary of inaccurate comparisons, there is no point in rushing
