Xiaomi CIVI 6: there will be two Camera Phones, but without Snapdragon

No, the Xiaomi CIVI series is not dead: we have written this phrase on several occasions repeating what insiders and not only have reported but so far the new range has not yet materialized. Despite the lack of official details, leaks continue unabated, and the latest rumors speak of a pair of Xiaomi CIVI 6, but this time the series will pass the baton to Snapdragon’s rival.

News come from Digital Chat Station, the Chinese leaker who often drops cryptic gems about upcoming smartphones. Now in the crosshairs is Xiaomi CIVI 6 Pro, the next Camera Phone in the family: at first there was talk of the cancellation of the CIVI series, followed by rumors about the next model, and now it seems the device will make a second appearance.

The top variant is expected to arrive alongside the standard Xiaomi CIVI 6, a first for the devices of the lineup: the company has always presented a single device and the current Xiaomi CIVI 5 Pro has never had a base counterpart, despite the name.

This time, then, it seems we will deal with two smartphones, again focused on the cameras. The CIVI family was born precisely to offer mid-range Camera Phones, with a special focus on the selfie department. Things have progressively improved with the addition of the ottiche Leica, borrowed from the flagship series; the new models would not be an exception either.

Xiaomi CIVI 6 would have a display of 6,59″ di diagonale with a 1.5K resolution, while the photographic system would be enriched by a teleobiettivo periscopico da 50 MP with 5x zoom. At the helm would be the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset.

The bigger brother Xiaomi CIVI 6 Pro would offer the same telephoto, but in extra-large format with a display of 6,83″ and the Dimensity 9500 at the center of the experience. For the first time the CIVI series would bench Snapdragon in favor of MediaTek, but the flip side is a top chipset (for the Pro model).

No release window yet, and there are no clues about a Global debut. Sometimes the CIVI models have found space in international markets as the base version of the main series: at this point we can’t help but think of a possible Xiaomi 17 Lite, but clearly it’s only a guess.
