Samsung Galaxy Unpacked, here’s when and where Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 will be announced

With the launch phase of the Galaxy S26 series now behind us, the industry’s attention is quickly shifting toward Samsung’s next generation of foldable smartphones.

Here’s when, according to the latest leaks, we’ll get to know Galaxy Z Flip 8 and the two alleged versions of Galaxy Z Fold 8.

The South Korean company is preparing to unveil soon a new line of products, developed with the aim of maintaining its leadership in an increasingly competitive segment.

This year, in fact, the challenge is expected to be particularly intense: the competition from Apple will become real with the debut, planned for the coming months, of its first iPhone Fold.

To respond to this push, Samsung has in mind not two, but as many as three new models, thereby expanding its offering to target different user segments.

According to information shared by journalist Kim Dae-yeon of the broadcaster Korea Economic TV, the company’s executives have already set the coordinates for the next major media event. The summer Galaxy Unpacked will be held in London on July 22, 2026.

On the stage of the British capital, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will make their official debut, confirming the two historic product lines. However, the real surprise of the day will be the introduction of a new variant, named Galaxy Z Fold Wide.

This third option will enrich the catalog with specific build features, designed for those who want a user experience centered on one screen with different proportions.

Display improved and reduced thicknesses

Technically, the Galaxy Z Fold Wide should stand out for a screen format with 4:3 form factor, offering a surface particularly wide and comfortable for document management and multitasking.

Another interesting detail that has emerged from the leaks concerns the chassis thickness: this model could be 0.5 mm thinner than the future Apple rival, confirming the significant engineering work carried out in Seoul.

Furthermore, both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Wide variant will benefit from new flexible OLED panels practically free of a central crease.

This technology, already previewed by Samsung Display during the CES 2026, guarantees a surface almost perfectly smooth to the touch and to the eye, a technical specification that seems to be present on the future Apple device as well.

The return of the stylus as a strategic advantage

A central aspect of the Asian strategy concerns S Pen support. In the previous generation, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 had given up on the integration of the famous stylus to favor a rather slim and light body.

In 2026, the company appears determined to return to its previous stance by reintroducing this feature, which has always represented a fundamental distinguishing trait compared to the competing ecosystem.

One detail still needs to be clarified: it is not yet certain whether the S Pen will be compatible with all high-end models, or whether this feature will remain an exclusive of the Galaxy Z Fold Wide, pushing professionals to opt for the widest option in the lineup.
