ACEMAGIC Retro X3 is the mini PC that pays homage to Nintendo, blending ’80s nostalgia with Ryzen 7

At the start of January, the Chinese brand announced the new mini PCs in the Retro X line, a pair of terminals with an atypical look for the category – a design inspired by old consoles of the past. The first jewel available (for now only in China) is ACEMAGIC Retro X3, with a style inspired by the famous Nintendo FamiCom: here are all the details, awaiting debut also for international markets.

As highlighted at the opening, the mini PC was conceived as a homage to the legendary Nintendo FamiCom: its style mirrors that of the iconic console from the big N without sacrificing a premium touch, with a sandblasted metal chassis that alternates shades of red, black and gray.

The power button recalls the consoles of the 1980s, while the heart of the experience is an AMD Ryzen 7 H 255 processor built with Zen 4 architecture, 8 cores and 16 threads, with a boost frequency that reaches 4.9 GHz.

The graphics component is powered by the Radeon 780M, based on the RDNA 3 architecture, which enables effective handling of light gaming and the playback of complex multimedia content.

Despite its featherweight of only 406 grams and compact dimensions (128.2 x 128.2 x 44 mm), the device allows upgrading the DDR5 memory up to a maximum of 128 GB or expanding storage through two NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD slots, reaching a total capacity of 4 TB.

The USB 4 technology support guarantees ultra-fast data transfers up to 40 Gbps and, in combination with the HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.0 outputs, allows managing up to three external displays simultaneously. The rear panel and the front panel host a wide range of ports while for wireless connectivity we have Wi‑Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

The company has implemented Cooling System 3.0, an advanced cooling system that uses a large fan and twin copper heat pipes to ensure proper heat dissipation on three sides.

ACEMAGIC Retro X3 arrives with Windows 11 Pro preinstalled and debuts in China at a price of 1,899 yuan, about €231 at the current exchange rate.
