Android 17, connect the dots to discover the new Easter egg

Google has recently started rolling out Android 17 Beta 4, a crucial step toward the release of the final version of its new operating system.

This fourth iteration represents the final test before the official launch, bringing with it the usual optimizations to ensure maximum stability.

However, alongside the software improvements, Google’s engineers have decided to include a decidedly more playful novelty, refreshing a tradition greatly loved by enthusiasts: the system Easter egg.

Android 17 has a new Easter egg

After keeping the hidden surprise intact since Android 14, the new update finally introduces a novel and interactive dynamic to entertain the most curious users.

Accessing the secret screen via the traditional, repeated taps on the Android version entry within the settings, you are faced with an initially empty interface.

The only visible element is a bare ring composed of small diamond-shaped dots. The requested interaction is simple but very intuitive: this is a quick game in which the user must connect the dots.

By tracing the correct lines on the surface of the screen to connect the various diamonds, the display comes to life revealing the full Android 17 logo. This moment coincides with an animation that sees the freshly drawn symbol travel forward through a virtual space, offering a dynamic and polished visual impact in the details.

Indeed, the logo itself represents a matter of great interest, as it is shown for the first time in its finished form, after the American company had progressively refined it through various posts on its own blogs over the past few months.

Decollo verso l’esplorazione spaziale

The pleasant surprise does not end with the simple appearance of the number of the new release. By long-pressing the finger on the emblem that has just appeared, the smartphone begins to vibrate progressively and more and more decisively.

This feedback has been designed to simulate the vibrations generated by the launch of a space rocket, significantly increasing engagement.

At the end of this brief liftoff simulation, the interface transforms, projecting the person holding the smartphone inside the famous space mini-game that the California-based company had already implemented and hidden in previous versions of the green robot.
