Xiaomi 18T and 18T Pro already certified: the launch could arrive sooner

The Xiaomi 18T series, the ‘T’ chapter that typically accompanies the main lineup with a separate release, is beginning to leave the first traces: some model numbers linked to Xiaomi 18T and Xiaomi 18T Pro have appeared in the GSMA certification body’s database, the bureaucratic step that normally precedes the market arrival of a new smartphone by several months.

Xiaomi 18T and 18T Pro: what emerges from the GSMA certification

For the Xiaomi 18T Pro, the codes 27016PT45G (global variant) and 27016PT45R (regional variant) have been registered, while the model destined for the Chinese market and the related internal codename have not yet emerged.

Its smaller brother the Xiaomi 18T would have appeared with the code M299EA for China, 27022PT99G for the global version and 27022PT99I for India, with the internal codename “sanjose“.

The documentation confirms distinct certifications for China, global markets, India and other specific regions, a sign that the launch is planned from the outset with broad distribution.

A launch in early 2027, ahead of the traditional autumn window

The most interesting detail, however, concerns the timing: the model numbers indeed include a prefix that, according to Xiaomi practice, indicates the planned launch window.

Therefore the numbers 2701 and 2702 would point to January and February 2027 respectively. If confirmed, this would be yet another shift away from the T line: it initially debuted in autumn (September) while the latest Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro were announced in May in Italy and in June in China.

The Lei Jun company has already opted for an early launch, but this time it even seems that the arrival is expected in the first quarter of 2027. It should be noted that this is an indication deduced from the model numbering alone, so it is wise to wait for further details.

At the moment there is no information available on the chipset, battery, display or camera setup of the two new models: the GSMA certification does not pertain to hardware specifications, which should emerge only later.

Meanwhile, all eyes turn to September, with the debut of the Xiaomi 18 series – which will be preceded by the foldable 18 Fold (coming to China on September 7 but already present at IFA).
