Moto Watch Ultra officially arrives in Italy: finally the ‘return’ to Wear OS

Motorola expands its wearable lineup with Moto Watch Ultra, a smartwatch designed for those who want to stay reachable even when away from their phone: it is, in fact, the first Moto Watch to include support for eSIM with LTE connectivity.

Moreover the wearable marks the return to Google’s system after years of distance from the debut of the historic Moto 360, originally launched in 2014 with Android Wear (the original name of Wear OS).

The body of Moto Watch Ultra is made of stainless steel, with a 46.26 mm case, a thickness of 12.1 mm and a light weight of 51 grams. The display is a 1.5″ curved pOLED panel with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, protected by a Gorilla Glass 3 and capable of reaching a peak brightness up to 2,700 nits, with a variable refresh rate between 1 and 60 Hz and support for Always-on mode.

On the durability front, the device carries an IP68 rating against dust and water, as well as water resistance up to 5 ATM.

Together with the aforementioned eSIM with LTE, Moto Watch Ultra includes dual-band GPS for more precise route tracking during physical activity. For health monitoring, the smartwatch relies on Polar’s algorithms to track sleep, recovery and daily activity: among the specific features are Sleep Plus Stages for detailed analysis of sleep stages, Nightly Recharge to assess overnight recovery and Serene, as well as metrics tailored for runners.

On the software front, Moto Watch Ultra relies on Wear OS 6, with support for the Google Play Store and the integration of Google Gemini, Google Wallet and the AI assistant Motorola Qira. The company guarantees two major OS updates.

On the autonomy front, the battery covers up to 2 days of active use with the Always-on display off, while fast charging lets you recover 24 hours of autonomy with just 15 minutes plugged in. The smartwatch uses bands with a standard 22 mm attachment.
