Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 Takes a Step Forward Toward Launch

Summer is Samsung’s flagship season, but alongside them the Asian company is typically refreshing its lineup of wearables as well. In the brand’s future lies the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 series, and now it takes a first step forward toward its debut, thanks to software (which reveals its model number).

Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 certified: when is the launch of the new premium watch?

The device has been spotted thanks to a new firmware published on the company’s servers, destined for a model code-named SM-L345U. Thanks to a previous certification we know that this is the unreleased Samsung Galaxy Watch 9, arriving in the coming months. Development would be complete and the company would be focusing on the testing phase.

The next generation of wearables is expected to mount the Snapdragon Wear Elite, the latest chipset announced by Qualcomm. Surely the SoC will be on board the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2: it remains to be seen whether Galaxy Watch 9 will adopt the latest arrival or the previous Exynos W1000. However Samsung has announced that all watches will rely on Snapdragon, which could count as confirmation also for the base model.

The watch is expected to arrive in two sizes, 40 and 44 mm, like the current Galaxy Watch 8. Also not to be ruled out is that this cycle may include a Classic model, given the welcome addition of Watch 8 Classic. The return of the cushion design, characterized by a circular display and a square bezel is probable. For the 44 mm model, a battery of 435 mAh (nominal value) has emerged.
