In the past few hours the official Xiaomi Global portal published the dedicated page to POCO C81 Pro, a new entry-level device. However, this must have been a mistake, as the device is not reachable at the moment; unfortunately for Lei Jun’s company this quick move wasn’t enough and we already have a first look at the budget phone, along with an overview of the technical specifications.

The aesthetics of POCO C81 Pro follow in the wake of the previous C71, with a vertical capsule-shaped camera module alongside the LED flash. The front hosts a 6.9″ LCD display with HD resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, with a peak brightness of up to 800 nits.
Under the hood we have the Unisoc T72050, a budget solution with a clock speed up to 1.8 GHz used mainly in basic entry-level phones. On the memory side, the site listed a single configuration of 4 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage (expandable via micro SD).
The camera setup appears to offer a single 13 MP sensor, accompanied by an 8 MP selfie camera. Completing the package are a 6,000 mAh battery with 15W charging, a side-mounted fingerprint reader and HyperOS. Looking at the specs and design it’s hard not to notice similarities with the Redmi A7 Pro, launched recently in Italy.
Probably POCO C81 Pro will be a rebrand, an alternate version with some differences: nothing unusual, since Redmi and POCO phones often change names and specifications depending on the market.
