ColorOS 17 has a date, while the first renders of OPPO Find X10 Pro Max surface

OPPO has announced the date for the upcoming major software update: ColorOS 17, based on Android 17, it will debut on September 17 during the dedicated event. The company confirms that the new version will arrive on board the OPPO Find X10 series, but it’s unlikely that the smartphones will be announced during the Developer Conference 26.

Just as this date approaches, the first render leaks have surfaced, previewing the possible design of the flagship model, Find X10 Pro Max.

ColorOS 17: what changes with the September 17 debut

ColorOS 17 introduces smoother animations inherited from ColorOS 16 but with a more dynamic visual feedback: UI elements stretch, compress and bounce on touch. Additionally there will be room for a new navigation with the Floating Island integrated into the system, which will affect most apps.

On performance, we expect a 35% smoother UI, 20% faster app launches, and the ability to keep up to 50% more apps running in the background compared to the previous generation.

The rollout has already started in a closed beta in August and, once released in stable form, the new interface will involve over 130 models across the OPPO, OnePlus and Realme brands.

Of the three upcoming models, OPPO Find X10 is the one with the most details circulating so far: rumors point to a 6.59″ display with 1.5K resolution, an 8,000 mAh battery, and a dual-camera setup with a 200 MP sensor (main plus periscope tele).

OPPO Find X10 Pro would instead have a larger 6.78″ display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset and a more advanced camera system than the base model.

The flagship model, OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, is expected to adopt a display similar to the Pro model and a triple camera with three 200 MP sensors. The flagship would run the Dimensity 9600 Pro paired with an 8,000 mAh battery, but these details have not yet been officially confirmed.

The unofficial renders of OPPO Find X10 Pro Max: new island and two colorways

A few days before the event, the first render leaks of OPPO Find X10 Pro Max have also surfaced online, shared on Weibo by the leaker Fixed Focus Digital. The images show a redesigned rear module that now stretches across the entire width of the device, in a design generally reminiscent of the iPhone 17 Pro.

Differentiating it, however, is a second square module placed inside the larger rectangular island: this inner module would house three camera sensors, while a LED flash and an additional sensor would be placed in separate cutouts on the outside. On the island, the logos Lumo (OPPO imaging technology) and Hasselblad are also visible.

The renders show the device in two colorways, white and blue: the white variant seems to be inspired by the tundra-umber color seen on Find X9 Ultra, with a distinctive texture that could recall the faux-leather finish of that model.
