How powerful are the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo? The A20 Pro chip tops the early benchmarks

After temporarily yielding the performance crown to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Apple has regained the top position with a reassuring margin.

Following the recent unveiling of the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, the Geekbench test results have highlighted the real capabilities of the new 2-nm A20 Pro processor.

The emerging data confirm performances far superior to the previous generation, restoring to the company the absolute lead in terms of raw computing power, easily surpassing the direct competition.

Being first to market does not always translate to being the best. The Galaxy S26 and S26+ had already introduced a 2-nm processor, the Exynos 2600, but the scores did not go beyond 3,149 and 10,877.

Apple has promised that the two new super cores dedicated to main operations are 20% faster, ensuring a level of power comparable to that of a desktop computer. Additionally, architectural optimizations guarantee up to a 40% increase for sustained performance versus the previous model.

The tests have confirmed these promises. The iPhone 18 Pro scored 4,719 points in the single-core test and well 12,677 points in the multi-core test.

It represents a clear gap from the iPhone 17 Pro, which had stopped at 3,668 and 9,498 points. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite at 3nm, also lags with its 3,753 and 11,259 points.

It is highly unlikely that the future Galaxy S27 lineup will be able to close this gap in the near term simply by moving to 2 nm.

High benchmark scores indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo offer faster speed not only in launching apps, loading web pages, and overall system fluidity, but also in the most demanding tasks such as latest-generation games and heavy photo processing.
