Asking questions about the robustness of Galaxy Z Fold 8 is mandatory, since we are talking about one of the most expensive phones in the tech landscape. The foldable features an internal screen with almost no crease, thanks to a renewed hinge: the Flex Titanium technology has introduced titanium components and other tweaks, and the result is a sturdier structure and a less evident crease.
Although there is indeed a titanium substrate positioned beneath the pixels, the upper protective layer remains plastic, which means that the inner screen continues to scratch easily even at Mohs hardness level 2.
On the other hand, the outer screen benefits from Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection, which shows decidedly higher resistance, scratching only from level 6 onward.
From the construction point of view, Samsung has made interesting changes that blend innovation with unusual choices. While the external chassis is made of Armor Aluminum and not titanium as one might infer from the screen novelty, for the first time the company has opted for a plastic camera housing rather than metal, a peculiar choice for a premium product.

Water resistance is certified by IP48, which provides partial protection against ingress of foreign bodies, while the new hinge design, thinner and flatter, seems to manage debris buildup well without compromising functionality.
Field performance confirms that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is built to last, despite its mechanical complexity. The 7.6-inch internal display shows its limits under direct thermal stress, resisting only 7 seconds to the heat of a flame before sustaining permanent damage.
An absolute note of merit goes to the fingerprint reader, capable of functioning perfectly even after being heavily scratched.
In conclusion, the final folding test demonstrates exceptional structural integrity: the phone survives extreme pressures without cracks, confirming itself as one of the most durable foldables ever produced by Samsung.
