The launch of Redmi K100 Pro and Pro Max is getting closer, and step by step Xiaomi is revealing details of both. This time it’s the camera department, with various confirmations on the sensors and the first samples, useful to get a preview of what we can expect from the future members of the POCO F9 family.

On the photography front, the Redmi K100 Pro Max focuses mainly on versatility. The main sensor of 200 MP is able to shoot images with a native resolution of 16,384 x 12,288 pixels and, thanks to the high pixel count, also allows 2x and 3x crops while maintaining high quality.
To complete the setup we find a periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom and support for digital zoom up to 100x, paired with a ultra-wide 50 MP camera with an equivalent focal length of 17 mm.
According to Redmi, this configuration covers five main focal lengths, from 17 mm to 240 mm, including 24, 48 and 120 mm, thus adapting to both landscapes and subjects further away. The telephoto lens can also rely on optical image stabilization (OIS) to improve sharpness and stability in long-distance shots.
The Global Future as POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra
The launch event for the new Redmi is set for August 11 in China, however both models also interest us in the West. Given past trends, the lineup should make its way to Europe with POCO, as happened with the current F8 Pro and F8 Ultra.
The Redmi K100 is expected to arrive as POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra, likely with the same hardware but with a look slightly different (more aligned with POCO’s style).
