In recent hours Xiaomi has announced the new Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro, currently available only in China. However we know well that the range will be released also in international markets, given the success of the Note family – also in our regions.
The usual question remains at every brand event: will the devices presented have downgraded batteries in Europe, or will the Global versions be released with unchanged specifications?
In the case of the latest Redmi, the question becomes even more important: these are the first members of the Note family with batteries of as much as 8,000 mAh and 9,000 mAh, in both cases with technology at silicon-carbon.
And this is where one of the most reliable insiders comes into play, especially when talking about Xiaomi. Based on what emerged from digging into the HyperOS code, the phones will arrive in Global versions with batteries that vary by market.
In India they will continue to offer the same capacity as the Chinese counterparts, but in other Global markets there will be downgraded units. So the Redmi Note 17 base will drop to 7,700 mAh while the bigger Pro will debut with 8,340 mAh.
At this point the European question should be resolved. Surely the versions coming to us will have downgraded batteries, so the sizes seen above should be the same for us as well.
Finally, it seems that in some markets the Redmi Note 17 base will arrive as the POCO M8 Power.
