Just about ten days ago we witnessed the debut of 8Marketplace, an unofficial store dedicated to the old smartphones from the Redmond company. Today, confirming a dedication that really has few equals in the tech sector of 2026, a new ambitious project emerges: a native application to use the popular messaging service Telegram.

The credit for this technical feat goes to a developer who emerged on Reddit with the username Legitimate_Post_2701, who unveiled to the public a software named Vianigram.

According to the creator, it is not at all a banal porting or a simple encapsulated web interface, but a native client built specifically on the MTProto protocol. This complex architecture guarantees a responsive experience, offering users an incredibly rich feature set.

Users of this new software can enjoy a full login procedure that includes SMS-based two-factor authentication, QR code login, and even the registration of new accounts. Conversations take place without fake elements, and are enriched by typing indicators, real-time online status updates, and read receipts.

The system supports advanced text formatting such as bold, italic, spoilers, and direct mentions. Moreover, the interface deftly handles voice messages with waveform, documents, polls, and high-definition images with optimized asynchronous loading, supported by an LRU cache designed to speed up loading of the various chats.

The ingenious notification system

One of the most complex technical challenges faced by the developer concerned the handling of message delivery notices. Given that in 2026 the official Microsoft services for push notifications are totally inactive, the creator had to implement an ingenious background synchronization system to keep users always informed.

This mechanism leverages system activities to check for updates, combining periodic processes that activate at most every 30 minutes with almost-instant wake-up events tied to VoIP architectures.

All of this works through intelligent coordination between the UI and the hidden processes, keeping a single continuous communication channel open.

Being a program still in full development, there are naturally margins for improvements for future versions. The author honestly notes that a complete shutdown of the app can cause some natural delays in alert reception, while the dedicated graphical interface for calls and general message management still needs some refinements.
