Redmi Note 17 will feature a larger display and bigger battery: here are the specs and a new color option

While awaiting the Chinese launch event for the Redmi Note 17 series, Xiaomi is teasing Mi Fans by publishing various teasers that preview its main features. After an initial look at the bigger Pro brother, the company led by Lei Jun has now decided to focus on the base model of the family.

In this case as well, we can expect a huge battery and a stylish design, while the display is larger than the previous generation.

The aesthetics of Redmi Note 17 5G had already been revealed by the very first poster, but in this case we can take a closer look at the device, in the Meteor Purple color. The rear Squircle island houses a punch-hole camera module containing a dual camera and the LED flash, while the front is occupied by a screen with a central punch hole.

Xiaomi has confirmed that this will be a top-tier panel: we are talking about a 7″ OLED display diagonal, compared to the 6.77″ of Redmi Note 15 5G (both Italian and Chinese). The display reaches a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness up to 1,200 nits.

I teaser then shift to the battery: we know Redmi Note 17 Pro will feature a 9,000 mAh solution (it’s the first in the Note lineup), but the standard version also reaches an important milestone. The company has confirmed that this is the first Note with 8,000 mAh, almost certainly with 45W support and wired reverse charging at 22.5W.

Xiaomi hasn’t revealed anything else—yet—but from benchmarks we know that the base Note 17 should mount the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. The China launch is scheduled for July 14, while global availability will have to wait.

However, according to a recent leak, the international release could occur before the end of the year (it also reveals the possible chipsets for the Global family).
