What if Samsung Ballie wasn’t really a dead project after all?

The small Samsung home robot seemed to be shelved, yet rumors about it continue to surface regularly.

Despite the disappearance of official pages and the recent news regarding its shelving, a new leak about the control app’s interface suggests that the work may never have fully stopped.

Media attention remains high, fueled by the absence of definitive communications from the South Korean company about the device’s cancellation and by the allure that such a distinctive idea continues to exert on tech enthusiasts.

In recent hours, the SammyGuru portal has shared some screenshots that would preview the user interface of the app dedicated to the home companion.

The technical drawings indicate the device with the generic label “Home Robot” and present several essential indicators, including the battery charge, the location inside the home, and the overall operating status.

Under the graphical representation of the robot, a dedicated button for the function “Streaming” appears, followed by other commands whose usefulness seems less defined. Among these, there is a Home Monitor option and a switch for the setting “Greeting.”

The exact origin of these illustrations remains unknown. However, it is speculated that the documents may originate from a filing with KC EMC, the South Korean authority equivalent to the US FCC, a practice required for certifying electronic devices before any potential release.

A story of appearances and delays

The public journey of Ballie began during CES 2020. On that occasion, the small yellow sphere immediately drew global curiosity, presenting itself as a personal assistant designed to support users, families, and even pets.

After four years of total silence, the device returned to the CES stage, this time powered by the artificial intelligence of Google Gemini.

Video demonstrations illustrated highly advanced capabilities: the robot autonomously patrolled environments, fed the dog, and prepared the home for the owners’ return after work.

Rumors pointed to a possible commercial launch set for 2025, but subsequently the product vanished from radar again.

A project in continual evolution

During 2026, a report published by Bloomberg indicated that the device’s development had been put on hold due to several accumulated delays.

In an official response, the Asian company described the product as an active innovation platform, useful for guiding the development of contextual space-based experiences, with particular emphasis on smart home automation, ambient artificial intelligence, and privacy by design.

Shortly after these statements, the dedicated web page for the robot went offline. Despite these setbacks, ongoing rumors show that until an official and explicit closure arrives, interest in the fate of this unusual device will continue to generate hypotheses and leaks.
