Google confirms Pixel Glow for the Pixel 11, here’s where it hides

Google has officially put an end to the suspense by confirming not only the name of its upcoming smartphone lineup, the Pixel 11, but also the existence of the feature leaked earlier and, for now, known as Pixel Glow.

Through a short promotional video that appeared on the main page of its official store, the Mountain View giant has shown the first details of this luminous element that promises to enrich daily interaction with the devices.

The launch event is scheduled for August 12 in New York, the date on which pre-orders will also open.

Speculation in the last weeks found a concrete answer in a short clip appearing directly on the manufacturer’s official channels. Pixel Glow presents itself as an LED light ring capable of reproducing a wide range of colors.

This component, positioned next to the cameras, will act as a notification system. Users will likely be able to assign different tones to specific apps or contacts, although full details on software customization will be revealed only during the press conference.

This module’s inclusion marks a return to hardware notification solutions, reinterpreted in a modern key to provide immediate feedback without necessarily turning on the main screen.

Rumors indicate that Pixel Glow will also be tied to the Gemini operation.

Confirmations on the lineup and launch details

Beyond the aesthetic aspect, the official page brings with it a second important novelty: the first official validation of the name “Pixel 11”. Google has in fact explicitly included the designation of the series, sweeping away any residual doubt about the nomenclature of the upcoming models.
