Gemini Intelligence on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 before Pixel 11

During the recent event Samsung Unpacked, Google drew broad attention by presenting a series of software updates of great importance.

The real news, however, is that the new AI features will debut on the new foldable smartphones from the South Korean company, effectively ahead of the arrival on the upcoming Pixel 11.

Thus, a historic alliance between the two brands is strengthened and a series of new tools are highlighted, designed not only to improve users’ daily productivity on Android, but also to concretely convince those who use an iPhone to switch to the other ecosystem.

Gemini Intelligence is already on Galaxy Z Fold 8

At the center of the announcements is the automation of some operations. This specific feature, originally released in beta last February, reaches today its full operational status extending support to over 40 applications on the new Galaxy Z Flip 8, Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Users can now delegate repetitive operations to the assistant, such as ordering dinner or purchasing event tickets, saving precious minutes to dedicate to other activities.

The system is also capable of analyzing context, reading directly the content displayed on the screen and accepting images as input, surpassing the limit of traditional textual commands.

Complementing these innovations is Gemini Notebook, i.e., the refreshed version of the tool previously known as NotebookLM. The program is preinstalled on the new foldable devices to facilitate the management of complex projects and the organization of personal or work-related research.

As an additional incentive, buyers of the new Flip 8 and Fold 8 will be entitled to a 6-month free trial of the premium service Google AI Pro.

Switching to a Fold from iPhone is now easier

A crucial element of the presentation concerns the acquisition of new customers from competing ecosystems. With the launch of Android 17, the operating system integrates a native data transfer tool capable of moving up to 20 different types of information quickly.

The operation can take place either in wireless mode or via cable, permanently eliminating the need to download third-party applications to complete the transfer.

The two companies clearly see this generation of foldable devices as a highly effective tool for attracting Apple’s user base, making the transition an extremely smooth process and free of technical obstacles.
