vivo Watch GT 2 in Italy at €149, huge display and long battery life

The Asian brand has officially announced the Italian debut of its new smartwatch, the vivo Watch GT 2, offering the market a device whose main strengths are a very large display and a long battery life.

Available for purchase on the brand’s official store and on Amazon, the product arrives on shelves with a suggested retail price of €149.

Aesthetically, the device presents itself with a square dial with clean lines, designed to convey a modern and elegant look on the wrist. Buyers can choose between two variants: the Obsidian Black version, characterized by a glossy black aluminum bezel finished with precision processes, and the more delicate color Stellar White.

The front is dominated by a large AMOLED display 2.07″ with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. This panel with 2.5D curved glass and ultra-thin bezels of only 1.8 mm is capable of reaching up to 2400 nits of peak brightness, ensuring optimal readability even under direct sunlight.

Customization is guaranteed by interchangeable watch faces, dynamic themes and support for the Always-On Display feature.

One of the most interesting aspects of the vivo Watch GT 2 lies in the battery life, designed to free the user from the need for frequent recharging. In Bluetooth mode, the smartwatch can reach 25 days of overall autonomy, which settle at 17 days in a typical usage scenario and 14 days keeping Always On Display active.

The proprietary operating system vivo BlueOS manages the interface, ensuring smoothness and supporting advanced features such as calls via Bluetooth speaker, use as a Walkie-Talkie and a system of quick-access cards.

Health, sports and cross-platform compatibility

Activity monitoring is extremely comprehensive, offering over 100 sports modes divided into nine categories.

Notably present are professional modes dedicated to tennis and padel, disciplines very popular in Italy, for which the device uses proprietary algorithms and the Gait Analysis to precisely track heart rate, calories burned and shot distribution between forehand and backhand.

Additionally, the case is water resistant up to 5 ATM, allowing use without problems even during pool activities.

On the wellness front, an AI-based system continuously analyzes fundamental vital parameters, including the blood oxygen level, the sleep quality, the stress levels and the environmental noise pollution, syncing the data with the Origin Health app.

Finally, the smartwatch offers excellent versatility by seamlessly connecting to both Android and iOS devices, also providing remote camera control and music management on the latter. There is also a NFC chip, useful for storing access badges and opening doors compatible with a simple tap, although payments are not supported.
