After announcing the new smartphones in the V family, the Chinese manufacturer has now revealed the small member of the family with little fanfare. vivo V70 Lite 5G arrives unexpectedly with a look we know well and slightly updated specifications. Let’s see what changes between the predecessor and the latest addition to the range, now available in the United Arab Emirates (we’ll see if it lands here later).
The new mid-range is presented as the entry-level model of the V lineup, with proven specs and a clean and elegant design. In reality, vivo V70 Lite does not do much to stand out: this year the Asian manufacturer opted for a simple upgrade that seems aimed at those looking for a new phone, without trying to entice users who own the previous V60 Lite.
The aesthetics are the same, with a large screen with flat bezels and a punch-hole for the selfie camera, and a capsule-shaped camera module paired with the ring LED flash. The Black color remains unchanged, while the pink color gives way to the new Gold tone.
This is the first of the two novelties of V70 Lite: the other is under the chassis, namely the Dimensity 7400 Turbo chipset from MediaTek – which replaces the old 7360. Built at 4 nm by TSMC, the SoC offers a slightly higher clock frequency, still with CPU A78, RAM LPDDR4X and storage UFS 3.1. In addition to the configuration 8/256 GB, there is an upper 12/256 GB configuration.
The rest of the specs follow exactly the V60 Lite: the same BOE Q10+ 6.77″ AMOLED display, 6,500 mAh battery and 90W charging. Even the camera setup remains unchanged and faithful to Sony’s IMX882 sensor (50 MP) supported by a 120u00b0 ultra-wide angle.
The software is updated to Android 16, via the OriginOS 6 proprietary interface. The price of vivo V70 Lite starts from around u20ac257 at current rates; as noted at the opening, for now the mid-range has been announced only in the United Arab Emirates and it is not known if and when it will arrive in Europe.
