It had been in the air for days and now the matter takes on official contours: the OPPO Reno 16 series will arrive in Europe in short order and will have, relative to its Chinese counterpart, less powerful batteries. Nothing new, but the need for a legislative change is becoming increasingly clear also in view of the major changes by Chinese manufacturers, now committed to bringing ever more colossal batteries (we have reached 10,000 mAh) on board phones with traditional design and dimensions.
OPPO Reno 16, 16 Pro and 16 F have received the energy label in Europe: here are the batteries and other details
The tangible proof of the Reno 16 family debut in Europe comes from the EPREL energy label, new regulation in force since last year. To the delight of manufacturers, all tech devices are required to have a certification that confirms both the battery capacity and other details (such as energy efficiency, duration and more).
Recently three OPPO smartphones labeled CPH2865, CPH2863 and CPH2859 have emerged. Based on what has emerged from certifying bodies and benchmarks, they would be Reno 16, 16 Pro and 16 F, all coming to our latitudes.
The two Reno 16 and 16 Pro devices have debuted in China in May, respectively with 6.700 mAh and 7.000 mAh. Here’s how things will change in Europe:
- OPPO Reno 16 (CPH2865) – 5,820 mAh, up to 63 hours per charge
- OPPO Reno 16 Pro (CPH2863) – 5,820 mAh, up to 62 hours with a charging cycle
- OPPO Reno 16 F (CPH2859) – 6,325 mAh, up to 75 hours per charge
Beyond details on batteries and battery life, the energy label shows the IP68 rating for all three phones. Unfortunately there isn’t any more information, but that’s where leaks come into play: an Italian store has published the pages dedicated to the upcoming smartphones, with technical details and even possible prices.
